Man Of Steel is better than the last Wonder Woman movie. We have to admit that Zack did a good job with Superman.

@Repian - It was mediocre, fan-service at best only in the course-correction way about action since Superman Returns. Seeing Superman being arrested while he presents himself to the world the first time was so dang stupid as compared to Superman saving Lois from the helicopter ride in front of the public.

@Repian - Man of Steel was the first DCEU movie -- before they even knew they were making a DCEU -- and was the best film of the entire catalog, to me. I'll never understand why critics were so harsh with it.

@Tonic24k -

Agreed.
CAVILL was a good choice.
Score was S tier
Action was also S tier
Casting was solid all around.
Zod was fantastic.

The really only downside was that it was a little too bleak at times and Pa Kent dying from the tornado was stupid.

But other than that, it’s really good.

A lot of crap! I totally forgot about Blue Beetle and it was cool to see it so high on the list, I'll have to check it out
lazlodaytona
lazlodaytona - 12/22/2023, 1:39 PM
@Evansly - That one, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad are the only certified ones that bombed that didn't deserve to (the latter two being because of the pandemic).

Personally feel like the new Aquaman, the Shazam sequel, and even the trashcan fire The Flash suffered from a fan base knowing that the universe they were in was dead so why would they care? If there was still plans to continue the DCEU after those movies, the scores could be very different. Just my opinion!
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 12/22/2023, 1:32 PM
@tluciotti74 - Well Joker made a billion and they sold it as a stand alone with no plans for a sequel.
lazlodaytona
lazlodaytona - 12/22/2023, 3:08 PM
@ObserverIO - the difference is the films/characters above have been a part of a shared universe since 2013 whereas everyone knew, at the time, JOKER was a one-shot deal in its own little world.
tluciotti74
tluciotti74 - 12/23/2023, 2:21 PM
@ObserverIO - as @lazlodaytona said they were all part of a universe and you told everyone that the universe was dead before the movies even came out so why would anyone care when you know you do not need to see these movies in order to see the next movie or anything like that. You can watch it when it streams in 3 months because you do not need to see it before seeing anything else kind of thing.
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 12/23/2023, 3:09 PM
@tluciotti74 - I wonder what this means for Joker 2. It'll be interesting if the sequel suffers because it doesn't count.
tluciotti74
tluciotti74 - 1/3/2024, 8:43 AM
@ObserverIO - you have a real hard time differentiating between a stand alone movie and a movie universe huh?
ObserverIO
ObserverIO - 1/3/2024, 10:44 AM
@tluciotti74 - Well, Joker was a stand alone movie, but now it has a sequel coming out, it's officially a movie universe. Of course, if there's no third film coming, due to DC Studios, then why would people continue to invest in that universe?

@ObserverIO - Thanks for commenting and saying the same thing over and over again. Please move on to bother other people with your nonsensical responses. Thank you!

@tluciotti74 - You said that you thought I had a hard time differentiating between a stand alone movie and a movie universe. I was just putting you right. I don't.

I was sort of agreeing with and backing up your point and wondering if the box office for Joker 2 could also be effected for the same reasons.

They are different universes, but they are both universes that are about to be discontinued.

These are not "nonsensical responses".

As for having the patience to say the same thing over and over again until communication is achieved, you're welcome.

If you use RT as your go to score, you're a moron. It dies equal the score of the movie! It means they voted at least 60% and marked it fresh... so a 90% means 90% of people think it's a passable movie...

ah yes, 78% for Birds of Prey...

Anyways, only movies I liked in this list are Man of Steel and The Suicide Squad. The rest I'll never see again.

Man of Steel is the greatest DCEU film and one of the best origin films ever made. It is by far the only DCEU film that was worth building on but unfortunately that opportunity was squandered. Had Warner Brothers paired the Dark Knight Trilogy with Man of Steel then Warner brothers would not be in the dire straits it is in now desperate to merge with another studio because it cannot grow from its own products. The DCEU is a sad testament to stupidity and bad management. Their shareholders should be able to sue this company for allowing a director to satisfy his own preferences at the expense of the their customers. it is arguably the most expensive mistake in the history of cinema when one considers the opportunity costs, loss of brand value, and the careers of directors and actors this whole effort cost.

@Forthas - Peacemaker and the Suicide Squad>>>>>>>>>> all the other crap
Forthas
Forthas - 12/22/2023, 5:07 PM
@McMurdo - Wow!...I guess that is why The Suicide Squad bombed so hard, even the film's director who is now in charge of DC has not greenlit a sequel and is letting Peacmeaker sit out for two years amid its declining ratings.
McMurdo
McMurdo - 12/22/2023, 7:49 PM
@Forthas - is that why Peacemaker was so successful????

@McMurdo - So here is the REAL Story. Here is John Cena's post announcing the news...

"finale had the biggest single day performance for a Max Original series"

That means it does not include, movies, or HBO (cable) series, or single episode specials. ALSO....HBO Max launched May 27, 2020...That announcement was in February 2022 so a whole year and seven months worth of "original" programs that we are comparing it to? How many did that constitute 2, 3, maybe four original programs?

WEAK SAUCE! Try harder!
