i'm not sure what's worse not knowing much about this film to have low expectations or knowing Phoenix won't be acting much to pull this role off .......

I still don't know if I am even slightly interested in this. If only they gave us a trailer, I can make my mind up

I just can’t believe this is being made, and how quickly it got off the ground since being announced

i truly have no idea how to feel about this. Part of me is intrigued (because the character is so compelling) but the other part of me is very strongly questioning why the hell we need this. In other words, why should I be interested in this? Seems incredibly risky for the studio to greenlight this project in the wake of an almost unbeatable performance by Heath Ledger and a very recent critically divisive performance by Jared Leto who played the same character in the midst of the studio desperately trying to right the sinking DCEU ship. But hey, maybe they know something I don't.

Who cares. They lost me with the idea of an origin story. That was established in the comics long long ago. They just keep making the Joker more of an unfunny Joke. I'll pass on this like I did on the Suicide Squad.

In all seriousness, I just don’t see this doing that great. Venom was different. It had cool action scenes and what not. This on the other hand, I don’t know if good acting and story will carry it. Action movies normally do better at the box office as compared to drama/comedy/action or whatever this may be

The Joker will NOT be the hero of this film. This movie will be all about perception. He may see himself as a hero, but he's not. We will see the world as he sees it. He may view Thomas Wayne in a negative light, but in truth he is probably a good person. He may feel that the world is out to get him, but in truth it is his own twisted perspective, and that will lead to his alter ego(the Joker), and ultimately his downfall.

Spot on. Joaquin called this a cautionary tale and that it scared the shit out of him.

The one thing that has me surprised about this movie is how close his hair is to The Dark Knight Joker. I figured they would have made sure it was distinctly different from Ledger and Leto's joker.
