Shooting on Joker is currently taking place in New York City and the focus right now appears to be on Amusement Mile, a location from the comic books. As well as new shots of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) and a clown (Glenn Fleshler), we now get to see Bryan Callen's male stripper. What role he'll play in proceedings is hard to say but one theory is that Arthur does stand up in the club he works in.

In the 80s, it wasn't unheard of for comedians to perform in strip joints and having to perform somewhere like that will more than likely play a role in pushing Arthur over the edge when he transforms into Gotham City's Clown Prince of Crime. What we don't know is whether the Dark Knight will factor into that but seeing as Thomas Wayne will play a role here, that seems highly unlikely.

Are you excited for Joker or do you think this original take on the Clown Prince of Crime's origin story is a huge mistake? Check out the set photos and then let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

@ArthurFleck - Yep. He's a good friend of director Todd Phillips and has been in a bunch of his films.

I hate how his hair is long I hope that changes when he’s actually the joker because I saw a picture of his hair short slicked back and thought man that would be a perfect joker look

I did not know that detail about the 80s regarding the job of some comedians.

I wonder if later on that character will end up being a victim of Arthur’s Joker.

Now that I think about it, we've never REALLY got KILLING JOKE Joker in live action. Nicholson is pretty much 80s Neal Adams Joker, Ledger is also Neal Adams Joker mixed with Alex from A Clockwork Orange with Tom Waits (even though TDK is kinda an adaptation of Killing Joke). Leto is something else completely.

But given what we know of the plot so far, the setting, and (seemingly) how Joaquin is playing it, we might be getting full-on Killing Joke Joker. The thought of that is exciting and intriguing.
