The biggest issue with Channing's Gambit was just a slightly ill-fitting headpiece and an overly comedic tone (it matched the vibe of the movie though)

I hope he gets the chance to play him FOR REAL in an X-Men lineup on film one day!

@xfan320 - I think they needed to have the vertical sides of the cheeks come in towards his mouth more. It looked too open which made his face look wider than it is. Also make the headpiece a matte color and not so reflective. It would mask the curvature of his face more.

@Mixedsuperman - THIS! ☝️ I did little mockups on my phone to show people that his cheeks just needed a little more coverage and he looks 20% better instantly.

Throw in black and red eyes, tone down his accent a little, and that's GAMBIT.

I know they had to have the orange glow to signify a Marvel Sparkle Circle opening, but damn, missed opportunity for his eyes not to glow red/purple!

If a scene doesn't make the final cut then should we ever consider it canon? Also just because this film gave him a sparkle circle doesn't mean he walks through it, which universe it leads to or if it would ever be followed up by his character returning.

We know he survived however thus already could return again if anyone wanted to including him in a film or show and I'd be fine if he did in say Secret Wars. As to after that I could think of better casting choices if they were to use the character in the rebooted main timeline regardless if a soft reboot or hard one but would be fine either way as wouldn't need to be the exact same adaption even if the exact same actor anyway.

@HammerLegFoot - The article stated deleted scene so the sparkle circle wasn't, I only recall seeing him still alive seemingly still in the void walking around the villains base in the film, zero recollection of it showing a sling ring portal in that with a lot not seeming to have even noticed he WAS shown to still be alive at all or unsure where he was if they did.

If I (and the article that states this scene was deleted) am wrong then fair enough but if it was deleted and is now being shown as a 'deleted scene' then it wasn't in the final cut but either way my points stand all be it with a minor correction :D

Nice. He's one of the few variant characters I wouldn't mind become part of the Sacred Timeline. Same with X-23, the upcoming Fantastic Four, and Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and T'Challa variants.

If they do a gambit movie or bring him back it’s gonna be Channing no question otherwise what’s the point? They couldn’t figure him out until Ryan brought in Channing they now have an opportunity to build from, I really don’t want to see a [frick]ing third gambit

My only complaint is that his hair should have been bigger and his eyes should have been black with red iris. Other than that I was actually impressed with his Gambit.
