Heartstopper star Joe Locke is playing the mysterious "Teen" in WandaVision follow-up Agatha All Along, but who has he really been cast as?

While the trailers have strongly hinted that he's Billy Maximoff, that's yet to be confirmed and may well be a misdirect (who can possibly forget how WandaVision fooled us into thinking Mephisto was the show's big bad?).

If Locke is Billy, then we have many questions about how he's gone from being a creation of Wanda Maximoff's in the Hex to a very real teenager. Of course, you can always look to the comics for clues.

"He's very thoughtful and kind, but he can act without thinking sometimes," Locke recently told Total Film of his Agatha All Along character. "The Witches' Road offers untold spoils and power...and then we’ll find out."

As for the fact he's been dubbed "Teen" and the speculation surrounding him secretly playing Billy, the actor added, "It's not a fake code name; it's what everyone calls him, which is a joke that develops during the show, but just becomes what everyone calls him, and he answers to it."

"He's a familiar; he's like the assistant to the coven," Locke previously said of his upcoming MCU debut. "Teen is a big fan of witchcraft and witches, so for him to be taken under Agatha Harkness' wing and form a coven and go down the Witches' Road is his dream. He's fanboy-esque, and in his element. Which is very fun - because I was [too]!"

Marvel Studios also started the one-month countdown to Agatha All Along's release with a new promo and stills which you can take a closer look at in the X posts below.

In the series, the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches' Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing.

Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road.

Agatha All Along stars Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, with Debra Jo Rupp, with Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza.

The executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos and Jac Schaeffer, who is also the head writer and directed three episodes. Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Monteiro each direct three episodes of the original live-action series.

Agatha All Along premieres on September 18 at 6pm PT/9pm ET, with the first two episodes, exclusively on Disney+.

If hope that eventually Harkness relates to the wider MCU, specifically The FF and Franklin

@ProfessorWhy - None of these shows are going to be other than derivitives of the novies. That ship sailed and sank,,,,,,,,,,horribly. The movie audience made that VERY clear when they went in to autopsy The Marvels. What you can expect imo is how AoS was treated S1-5. YMMV.

Correct me if I’m wrong but in the comics , it’s never been entirely clear how Billy & Tommy went from being creations of Wanda to flesh & blood people right?.

Anyway , I do think he is playing Billy and that he wants to go to the Witches Road because he thinks that Wanda is at the end of it so he wants to free his “mom”.

Also him actually being called “ Teen” is odd but also makes sense when you have the likes of Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha & Aubrey Plaza with their snark in your show lol.

@TheVisionary25 - It is adressed in the comics, unsure exactly how well as only read bits of it here and there at the time and put it all together later with the help of wiki's...

...but the basic upshot is the souls of Wanda's kids were reborn as Billy & Tommy. It was all in a fair amount of flux for a while, Mephisto wasn't even initialy supposed to be behind their original creation but was a forced change as witch creating her own kids from magic wasn't going down well with some...

...eventualy landed on the idea that Mephisto had taken lost souls to create the twins Wanda gave birth to rather than them being parts of his own splintered soul.

When Mephisto wiped the twins from existance it simply released those lost souls to find new bodies one way or another be that reincarnation or whatever. They thus had it that the souls were able to drift back in time to be concieved in the wombs of two different mothers yet retaining the physical appearance, powers and soul as Wanda's twins.

In this, they could go the possession route within the witches road if they wanted with Wiccan but we will see.

@Apophis71 - interesting though I read that was later retconned too and Mephisto was lying that he did that this it’s still a mystery?.

Granted , they could go that or whichever route they want so it doesn’t matter too much

@TheVisionary25 - As I say, was in flux for a while, Mephisto included at all was a retcon but the latter 'lie' retcon then included was that it was parts of him who formed the twins and completely ceased to exist but instead was realy lost souls and the remaining mystery if any was if it was Wanda who was the one to call upon those souls to magicaly create the twins, Mephisto or a combination of both as I understand it...

Either way they were identical twins (bar hair color) born to two different mothers before Wanda gave birth to them in comic timeline with the same souls of those Wanda gave birth to regardless specifics and oddity of the reborn beore first born...

...it was basicaly just reincarnation whichever way you look at it where souls are 'recycled' into new bodies retaining appearance and powers in both iterations. MCU are likely to make changes that maybe that 'Teen' gains Wiccan's soul and powers on the Witches road rather than born with them to thus make it easier for the GA to grasp.

@Apophis71 - oh cool , thanks then

Wonder when we’ll get Tommy then?.

@TheVisionary25 - Original rumor was Tommy would turn up in Vision Quest then head into the Childrens Crusade, with all the changes of tack and release schedule your guess is as good as mine

Is WandaVision in the room with us now?

@clintthahamster - it’s like people forgot that mystery have misdirects…

Also idk if a couple of obtuse references that people turned into a bigger deal is necessarily the shows fault?

@TheVisionary25 - yeah they never overtly hinted Mephisto. That was all fan overreaction

@Havenless - I think it was a reasonable assumption knowing the source material, my biggest bug bear was that the fan ideas were better than what we got

@Radders - I tend to feel, even if some had what they though were better ideas and/or issues with what we got, everything was great until the last episode.

However it was that last episode that was most drasticaly and hastily rewritten to work around all the COVID lockdowns and restrictions so MAYBE if they had logisticaly been able to stick to what was planned it would have been a solid landing but we'll never know for sure and I'm OK with how it ended all things considered.

The far bigger issue was not enough communication and coordination with the creatives on DS:MoM meaning issues folks had with how WV ended were exacerbated and was part of what prevented Dr Stranges second film from being as great and universaly appreciated as it could have been. Instead being good but flawed with more issues left to address with Wanda (and to a lesser extent the twins) than needed to be the case if they are to bring her back.

@Apophis71 - For me it lost it in Ep 6, I thought it was great until then, but do agree the last episode was the icing on the cake and yep, definitely covid at play in part - the "they'll never know what you gave up" just kills it

I enjoyed MoM despite its numerous problems and one of the biggest of those is the lack of connectivity and no real explanation of why Wanda went full psycho. Not everything needs spelling out but that really felt rushed - added to the bit where Strange isn't bothered that she held an entire town hostage and tortured them for weeks...because she stopped.

Scarlet Witch was always one of my favourite charcters in the comics when I was growing up (along with Wonder Man and Cyclops) and I thought Elizabeth Olsen was great in the role, so I really wish they'd nailed both of these outings

I remember when some journalist asked Marion Cotillard whether she was playing Talia al Ghul. I was so pissed at the person. Spoilers aren’t news.

Imagine “Hey David Prowse, what do you say to the rumors that Darth Vader may be Luke’s father?”

I'm going to address how few people give a crap about Agathat, Ironheart, and WonderMan.

Quality over quantity. Yeah....right.
