The Daredevil s1 approach. Perfectly self-contained, with room to grow and small hints to expand on (depending on the reception).

This is how the majority of Marvels contracts work now as of July last year. Feige said:

"It varies, project to project, cast to cast. Really, what we want are people that come in, are excited to be in the universe, are excited at the opportunity to do more things, as opposed to being locked into contractual obligations."

@JakeyChappers - It's the smart play, really. Pretty sure Ethan Hawke or Christian Bale wouldn't be in Marvel Projects otherwise.

@JakeyChappers - @SpaceAgent - I get that Marvel has had some unpleasant experiences with actors who feel locked in, but the benefit of that is not having to renegotiate salaries. Feige is acting like "if the property is popular enough for a sequel, then it will be profitable enough to pay actors out of the nose to get them back", but running the whole enterprise like that means you're gambling on the whims of actors who you may have to replace and... OH MY GOD, I SOUND LIKE IKE PERLMUTTER [frick]ING KILL ME.

Yeah, they totally won't negotiate a new contract for 7 movies..

It makes sense he didn't want to commit at first, but he will probably get another deal, even if it's not as long as other actors in the MCU. I don't think we will be a central player or join the Avengers (he could, but he doesn't seem eager to), but maybe a couple more seasons of Moon Knight, small appearances in the mystical/horror related projects that are on the works and hopefully a Midnight Sons movie/show.

@Pssst -

I think a Midnight Sons limited series on D+ is the way to go, if Feige and co wish to maintain the PG-centric appeal of the MCU on the big screen. Yeah, DP3 will be R (as it should), but I think very few (if any) other projects will follow that rating.

@DrReedRichards - Yeah, you are probably right, but even in D+ they seem to have that problem with more "edgy" content. There's a lot you can do in films with a PG-13 rating like The Batman and The Dark Knight prove, so I don't see why a Daredevil or a Moon Knight movie couldn't work in a similar way. And Blade is also coming as a film, so I guess we'll see how they manage that, on top of DP3. I think the PG approach made sense for Marvel for the first 3 phases but they should open it up a bit, maybe with a "more mature" sub-label like Vertigo was for DC Comics, including Blade and Midnight Sons and such.

I'd be very surprised if Issac didn't come back for another turn as Moonknight. Feige pretty much knows how to treat his actors and they seem to reciprocate by continuing to work for him. A win-win for everyone, epecially us fans.

These interviews really show that Oscar put his foot down with this role. Guess he had to make it clear from the get-go with Marvel/Feige. I suppose I don't blame him.

No one does anymore I think, at least new people they get. I think Feige said they were done with those multiple picture deals and just doing it one by one.

"Golden handcuffs" haha, nice allusion. I get his approach but I am also sure we will see him again down the road.
