With the first episode of Moon Knight now streaming on Disney+, Marvel Studios has released a TV spot that looks ahead to the rest of the season. May Calamawy's Layla is given the spotlight, while there's also plenty of epic Egyptian imagery (suggesting the stakes will be upped in future episodes).

Perhaps most interesting is Arthur Harrow pointing out that the reason Marc Spector has multiple personalities is because he's attempting to hide old scars. This suggests Moon Knight's origin story will be better explored as this series progresses, likely explaining the hero's dissociative identity disorder.

"Oscar Isaac puts Moon Knight on the map in Marvel Studios' most daring TV show yet," we said in our review of the first four episodes, "ushering in an unmissable new era of storytelling in a series that, if it sticks the landing, could go down as a classic."

Taking a quick look on social media, the response to Moon Knight from fans has been extremely positive thus far. As of right now, the show has 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, so it's in "Certified Fresh" territory. The majority of those reviews are for the first four episodes, though some critics chose to only share their verdict on the premiere (we'll be breaking that down for you shortly).

Take a look at this new TV spot below, but be warned of potential spoilers for the series!

The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.

Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes (those George Clooney rumours were incorrect). Jeremy Slater is the head writer, and Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers.

Moon Knight is now streaming on Disney+.

Reposting my comment because I'm lazy:
Moon Knight was pretty good, thirty minutes in is when the meat and potatoes show. I do have to say that the cgi is really bad, and they might think it's clever to skip action scenes through his personalities.. but it seems they're still scared to full embrace the dark and gritty side. Maybe it was for the first episode, but don't make this a kids show please! He's fantastic as Steven/Marc, and Ethan Hawke was pretty great

Decent start. Can’t stand his boss though, her short scenes were so hard to get through.

Damn that ep flew by. I liked it, but the effects were pretty bad, especially during that car chase.

Yeaaaaah, it was what I have expected: sterile, watered down and family friendly version of Moon Knight for a wide audience. I have no hopes for the upcoming MCU Blade.

@Spawnnn - THAAANK YOU. I thought I was alone feeling this. No hope for their Daredevil reboot as well.

@Spawnnn - Its the first ep and there was plenty of blood, I think they're teasing out all the violence until they fully dive into his mercenary side. Right now in this first ep we're just getting the Steven Grant side of things. Like a frame story.

so I just finished the episode and I'm about to make this show my whole personality because I f*cking loved it.

but there is one big elephant in the room though, a topic that definitely can prove controversial and spark countless debates, and in fact it has done that in the past...did he just call Avatar TLA an anime?

@Spidey91 -

Even as an avid anime watcher, calling A:TLA an anime never fails to make me giggle. I mean, it's already better than most anime, so might as well, you know?

First episode was good, liked the transitions between Steven and Marc amid all of Konshu's threats to Steven for getting in the way.

Oscar Isaac carried the episode very well on his own.
