One of the main assets about this show is the love they have for practical effects. Some things do require CGI but if you can make it practical it makes the experience more significant.

I've been loving this series specifically for its use of practical effects. It gives it a more authentic Star Wars feel.

@smgmayhem - Absolutely. That's always been the key - it has to have that otherworldly feel to it. A lot of that can be attributed to the use of practical effects and puppetry.

I do like that they use a puppet. Sometimes it's very obvious indeed and I like that. The only time I don't is when the Pascalorian is carrying Baby Yoda and he feels too light. Other than that, no complaints.

"Cowards" was a strong and unnecessary jab though lol.

@Necropolitan - i reckon he weighs about as much as a potato. And not one of those monster state fair potatoes either. just the regular kind

I had a great time reading this last night. What a legend. The right call by far, he looks incredibly real. The whole show does, they nailed the old trilogy aesthetic.

@Kyos - let me toss in Galen Erso for runner up consideration. Performance was perfect for Star Wars and although character died with not much screen time...he was instrumental to the whole saga and possibly one of the bravest men in the Star Wars Saga.

Werner Herzog is my nomination to replace Sir David Attenborough if god forbid his health ever stops him from doing Planet Earth.

It's weird because I actually thought it looked more like CGI than a puppet in a few shots.

Lol. That was funny. Don't know if he was being serious or not.

I do love Werner Herzog.

Any fans of his early stuff on here? His Nosferatu has always been a fave of mine.

And I bet they left that damn puppet be. Herzog had spoken.
