@Ha1frican - It could also be because the deal wasn't finalized. It wouldn't surprise me if the conversations between The Russo Brothers, Downey, and Feige came down to money but also to returning stars. Downey without the Russos wouldn't happen and the Russos without Downey wouldn't happen.

@SonOfAGif - sometimes it isn’t a done deal until right before Kevin Feige announces them on stage at SDCC. Mark Ruffalo signed the contract just before walking on stage to play the Hulk. I’m sure RDJ was the same, or maybe earlier in the day, which is why he didn’t have time to tell his co-stars the big news. He definitely couldn’t tell Tom Holland or Mark Ruffalo, everyone would’ve known before Hall H.

Well we got RDJ back, Hemsworth will be too if they follow the comics , Ruffalo’s Hulk is still out there, Jeremy is game, so that leaves Scar Jo and Evans.

Will they make a return to?

It seems logical.

But then those rumors of Spidey Maguire and Hugh’s Wolverine taking center stage aren’t true then ?

I also wished they focused more on Dr Strange and Scarlet Witch .
But there’s so many characters, idk

Yes I heard Tom’s Spidey would be co-starring for Avengers 5 and then Secret Wars would feature Tobey and Hugh in a big capacity , but I guess that was back when Kang was still the villain so yeah :/

@MisterDoctor217 - the thing is when these OP characters come in and fight alongside less OP characters it makes the the OP look way more powerful and diminishes the power of the less OP or they de-power the OP characters and we never truly get to see them in peak form.
People like Strange, Wanda, CM, Thor need to off having another fight elsewhere where they are really doing over the top OP sh1t.
That leaves the less OP characters to really shine in their respective fights. We hate when they water down Hulk, etc and this can fix that. and truly if someone was to really take on the Avengers as a galactic threat, etc then they would do it on multiple fronts simultaneously, they wouldn't all gather in one field in Wakanda or Avengers compound to pound it out. You have to divide and conquer to really beat a worthy adversary of any great size.

Yes of course I understand all that. The problem with OP characters as you say is their powers , and they have to find a storyline where they can use those powers and still make the less powerful ones shine.

I think The Russos did incredible on that front on the last two Avengers movies.
I think they can come up with something.

Like they did before , have every character on their own adventure and bring them together at the end.

Maybe have Dr Strange looking for Wanda because they need her to defeat Doom?

Unless they go with the Scarlet Witch is with Doom storyline 🤔

@MisterDoctor217 - if, big IF, Scar Jo returns, Disney better cut her a check for the full amount before she suits up. They wouldn’t pay up at first, had to sue them first. I don’t think she will be back, to be honest. They could bring in their original Black Widow first choice, Emily Blunt.

I’m sure Evans will return, he did show up in Deadpool and Wolverine, so that’s probably a yes, if the money is good.

@TheVisionary25 - Well, as far as we know, (old) Steve is still alive in the MCU, so picking up on what @MisterDoctor217 was saying above, Natasha is the only one who would need a Multiversal variant to replace her without f**king with the events of Endgame. So then the question is, who would that variant be? Is there a version of Natasha that could show up in "A:SW" that would make sense and allow for the OG Avengers assemble one last time? I don't actually know, so that's an open question. But if they can make it happen (without it being too contrived), I'm all for it.

If you think about it, the Fox-verse is essentially coming to an end with "DP&W" and most definitely with "A:SW". And most likely, the first iteration of the MCU is as well. I think that in "A:SW" we're going to see a collision of all the previous worlds/universes on a scale that we've never seen before, and so it would make sense to include the OG Avengers in that collision in some fashion. So I say "Giddy up!". 😉

@TheVisionary25 - I would imagine that if the next saga is well and truly the Mutant Saga, it will be smaller from a Multiversal perspective, but just as impactful on a personal scale (if that makes any sense). So while we'll likely be back to having a Sacred Timeline and focusing mainly on Earth 616 (or whatever it's referred to at that point), if the focus is on mutants and specifically mutant/human relationships (fear and anger and all that) it can be pretty serious with very high stakes without involving variants, incursions, etc.

I mean, think about it: who needs a Multiversal big bad to destroy us when we can destroy each other through hate and prejudice just as well?

@WakandaTech - I think they will keep the first date, but move the next one out a year. Doomsday 2026 and Secret Wars 2028. That gives them more time to work on the effects shots and the multiple rewrites on Secret Wars. We’ll see I guess.

I know it's completely random but I think a cool scene with be of Shang Chi on top of The Great Protector flying over the newly formed Battleworld looking in disbelief as the lands begin to merge into one and he cannot do anything.

They need to write Hawkeye like Avengers EMH for his last appearance in the MCU. He's more useful in a fight than Black Widow, Falcon, Daredevil, Punisher and Drax. Also give me T'Challa and Namor team up in Secret Wars movie
