A new TV spot for Deadpool & Wolverine has been released and, while it's light on new footage, it still provides an exciting glimpse at what's to come in this long-awaited threequel. 

It's hard to predict exactly how spoilery TV spots like these will get in the coming weeks. We'd be shocked if the Deadpool Corps don't get the spotlight at some stage as they've been heavily featured in merchandise, including a wave of officially revealed Funko Pops. 

Beyond that, we'd imagine Marvel Studios will want to keep Deadpool & Wolverine's biggest secrets under wraps. They'll no doubt be the odd tease here and there showcasing a minor Variant or two, but much of this movie remains a mystery to us.

That's no bad thing and we're hearing even press will only see 40 minutes of footage from the team-up before interviews take place.

Deadpool & Wolverine has also taken over Times Square and Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square as the threequel's marketing campaign ramps up.

The former contains some new shots of the titular duo, though there's still no sign of Logan's mask (instead, Jackman's face remains front and centre). In contrast, we've seen relatively little of Reynolds, likely because he's near-unrecognisable as the Merc with the Mouth. 

Shawn Levy directs Deadpool & Wolverine, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen. The movie is written by Ryan Reynolds & Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Zeb Wells & Shawn Levy.

The trades have confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, with Wesley Snipes, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Dafne Keen, Channing Tatum, Blake Lively, singer Taylor Swift, and even a Hulk now among those rumoured to make an appearance. 

Kevin Feige, Reynolds, Levy and Lauren Shuler Donner produce with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, George Dewey, Simon Kinberg and Jonathon Komack Martin serving as executive producers.

Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26.

@CoHost - It seems that Disney/Marvel is desperate for this movie to be a success at the box office, with so much advertising and so much billboard. And it is not surprising after failures like The Marvels among others, the audience has lost interest in the garbage they produce. In my opinion, the formula of Marvel's Fox era was a complete failure and, added to the complex and twisted plots of the multiverse, with so many variant characters, it only confuses and frightens the viewer. From the trailers, it seems that this movie will be like a fighting video game, where the characters have to face enemies until they reach the boss, that is, a plot for children that is simpler than the operation of a botijo. And as a reward, after 25 years of seeing Wolverine in an undershirt, is seeing him with the mask that he should have worn from the beginning

@lvcl - Ton of action movies can by simplified as "the characters have to face enemies until they reach the boss", some of them made for adults (Die Hard, Dredd, The Raid, John Wick etc.), so as a criticism that rings hollow.

@lvcl - and which studio don't want their movie to be a hit? That's a dumb thing to say. Also Deadpool never was a mubi film, it is exactly like a videogame or a comic, so stop hating.

@FinnishDude - Infinity War and Winter Soldier could both EASILY fit "the characters have to face enemies until they reach the boss". I mean most CBM's tend to be that or 'the character faces the boss and fail in first act, middle act doing prep, final act come back stronger and win in a far bigger battle than the first act'.

MOST folk thus DON'T tend to go into action blockbusters, and esp CBM's, expecting a complex plot and oft will reject CBM's if they try to pull off plot twists (Iron Man 3).

Anyway, last tracking I saw a few days ago still had domestic OW over $180M and potentialy over $200M (with others still putting it in the 200 to 240MM range) and total domestic BO well over $400M and potentialy over $500M. Which considering the first two DP's had around $130M OW and around $350M domestic total at a time when aggregate box office totals were WAY higher than now is still looking like being a huge hit.

@braunermegda - Seriously. The “they’re promoting this movie too hard trying to ensure it makes lots of money” complaint has to be the dumbest complaint I’ve ever seen on here. Of course they are. They need a hit, and believe this will be one. So they’re promoting it. A lot. Cope. JFC.

@Jackraow21 - exactly. If they don't promote enough people complain (like with the marvels), if they do, people also complain. These are all really sad people frustrated as hell and nothing will bring them joy, so they spread their bitterness around, and worse, in a very very dumb way.

@Apophis71 - I am a great lover of comic books and quite a few CBMs and I know that high quality works and much better stories have been created than the "kill kill til the big boss", that is a meaningless bullshit. None of you have denied that Deadpool vs Wolverine is going to be that, so you confirm that this is the plot of the movie. It is so predictable that you know everything that is going to happen just by watching the trailer. The real haters are the ones who defend this type of childish plots that are leading superhero movies to extinction.

@lvcl - BTW, your point about basic plot would be valid for a LOT of CBM's doing an adaption of a big comic storyline, just isn't realy one with Deadpool that has with the prior films tended more to be about poking fun at such movies rather than even trying to be an epic level narrative.

IE The wrong movie to be making this sort of critique about.

The counter however is mostly that you can make a great movie with a basic plot and can loose the audience if you try to make it too clever/complex when it comes to blockbusters and why I tend to feel the more complex stories would oft tend to work better on shows where you can give them the time needed ((or lower budget movies and studios do need to break their addiction with bloated budgets).

@Apophis71 - That is a mistake that many wise people like you make and it is underestimating the public that goes to see CBMs and their intellect. Believing that people are going to pay for any argument and swallow like idiots. That is the same mistake that Disney/MARVEL made in their latest mistakes like The Marvels, Quantumanía, Love & Thunder, Eternals, and many others, and it seems that DPvsW will join the list of movies made for airheads

@lvcl - Nah, don't underestimate it at all, just not what a majority would want for a DP movie and tends not to have AS broad of an appeal to warrant a $200M budget or more is all. All for stuff like V for Vendetta done well, but for fun popcorn flick that isn't what most look for with the blockbusters, not that there isn't any appeal for them and Eternals was the exact opposite of everything your saying that underperformed for other reasons as was grande scale stuff (all be it with underwhelming deviants) that subverted expectations and probably would have been better as a series to give more time for the story to breathe and explore all the characters better.

Is it too early for official tracking numbers?

I am not believing that 200M OW domestic tracking because unlike most, i read beyond the title and that article is BS

@vectorsigma - Depends whose numbers you look at, lowest recent ones out there had it a few days ago at $182M to $214M with others having it up to $240M domestic OW. Everyone has it tracking at a predicted total domestic north of $400M upto over $500M of those posted the last couple of weeks that I've seen.

Course it could fall short of those if it turns out not to be good but seeming to get huge praise and added hype from the first of the half hour preview screenings tend to suggest it will be a solid film fans of DP movies will love so...

...we'll see.

@BlackStar25 - Tickets have already been on sale for weeks, a full month earlier than normal, and for some strange reason certain people are unhappy that the numbers released are saying they are selling faster than they did for any other R rated movie in history and faster than the first two DP films, Joker, MoM, GotG 3 and Wakanda Forever thus reckon it is all lies.

However, yeh, mostly we only tend to get much in the way of actual tracking of sales/interest in the last two or three weeks not before (even if there is SOME longer range guestimates prior).
