Isn't patch the same variant that's also the appropriate wolverine height? It's not like those are separate variants from everything I read.

@Origame - I thought that at first too, but there was comma between the two different ones on Wilding’s previous article, though as written still potentially implied them being the same.

@Origame - We don’t know yet, but either way some of these will likely be easter eggs in the movie more than a specific variant for each reference. We know of Logan’s bones, Patch, and the version that will be the lead in the movie so far.

Can we get mask confirmation yet?

Because I'm thinking it's not in the film at all.

It seems a waste if we don't see Wolverine Vs The Hulk, actually fight that is.

@marvel72 - as much as I’d like to see it, I’d rather wait til the next actor takes the mantle before seeing a real Hulk vs Wolverine fight. They can’t dump their load completely on Jackman on his way out.

Patience, grasshopper.

@PatientXero - Oh shit I just figured something out! The reddit leaker said something about not wanting to spoil which version of Hulk it was, so we're thinking is it the Ang Lee Hulk, the MCU Hulk, the Lou Ferrigno Hulk, etc.

I'll bet it's gray hulk!

@ObserverIO - I wasn’t pooping on the idea. I would love to see some grey hulk love, with brown suit Wolverine

I'm totally not interested in this flick. The 4th wall breaks, gay jokes, and dick jokes get old real fast imo.

I'm still holding out (some) hope for a decent MCU FF movie, but the more I see of that, the more disappointed I am.
And with Avengers 5 losing writers and directors and the Kang situation, I don't see much to get hyped up about in the near future.
It just amazes me how quickly things have gone of the rails for the MCU post Endgame.

Off topic: Yet another industry disgusting creep exposed. Smh

"we'll all get to see just how daft it would be to stick too closely to the comics with Wolverine!"

Daft nothing. I'm sure it will be played for laughs, But in my opinion, Logan being short isn't just a core characteristic, it's one of his most interesting features. Features. In the '80s, when his claws were still bionic implants, it was interesting that this small guy with a relatively weak mutation was transformed into one of the toughest guys around who could go toe to toe with the Hulk. He was called Wolverine literally because wolverines are small ferocious animals. His name being Logan is an ironic joke, as Mount Logan is the tallest mountain in Canada.

The bottom line is that fox just didn't have the balls to go with the comic accurate version of the character, and thought a tall, handsome leading man type would sell more tickets

I hope whenever they recast, they have the guts to go comic accurate

@Izaizaiza -I agree with all of your points, and never knew about mount Logan. Love that detail.

BUT, I’ve got a funny story about “Fox” wanting to cast a handsome leading man as Wolvie: It was actually, none other than Kevin Feige who lobbied for Jackman. He was a producer on the first movie. Hugh actually bombed his audition, but Feige saw something in him and took him out to dinner and to the airport. When FOX and Singer’s original pick for Logan fell through, Feige talked them into bringing Jackman back and history was made.

Having said that, I hope Ol’ Kevin is looking more for comic accuracy with Wolverine’s height when they finally bring in a new actor.

@Monstawain - damn, that's an interesting detail. I didn't know! Still, producers up high may have said no to a short, hairy mean lead. I also want to say that although REALLY want a comic accurate Wolverine, I think Hugh has done everything he could with the role

If they just shrink Hugh and make him a mini Wolverine it’s just for comedic value. Although Wolverine is 5’3” he’s stocky and not just a small human. That’s the Wolverine I pray Marvel introduces once we wrap Secret Wars and get the official X-Men lineup. The he visual would also add the the variety of shapes and sizes and colors that make up the x-Men. Not everyone is tall and good looking.

I’ll take a short feral Wolverine over a tall Wolverine any day of the week
